Simulation has revolutionized flow and heat transfer dependent systems over the past decades by minimizing costly physical testing and accelerating time-to-operation around the world. But for many companies, such simulation has largely focused on components and has proved to be very time consuming. The technological advancements delivered by Flownex® SE now offer a fast, reliable and accurate, total system and subsystem approach to simulation.
M-Tech's main software product is Flownex® SE, a thermal-fluid systems simulation and design code. The code provides the ability to simulate, design and optimize complete integrated thermal-fluid systems based on fundamental principles, similar to that of conventional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes.
The difference, however, is that the complete system or plant, including the control system, can be simulated and results can be obtained within very short processing times, even for transient event simulations. Applications include compressed air networks, water reticulation networks, steam heating and heat ex changer networks, refrigeration cycles, as well as whole power plants including gas turbines, coal fired power stations and gas-cooled nuclear reactor power plants.
